V rámci aktivity projektu ADAMIS Aktivita 1.1 Audit súčasného stavu a návrh zmien študijného programu mediamatika a kultúrne dedičstvo (MaKD) sa uskutočnil prieskum súčasného stavu a pripravil návrh zmien študijného programu MaKD v komparácii so svetovými univerzitami, s cieľom stanoviť najlepšiu prax, ako východisko pre identifikovanie nevyhnutných zmien v študijnom programe Mediamatika a kultúrne dedičstvo a vypracovanie návrhu nového študijného programu v odbore knižničné a informačné štúdiá.

In 2007 – 2015 the researchers of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Žilina, Department of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage implemented tasks in the project titled Adapting the Study Programme of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage to the needs of the knowledge society (acronym ADAMIS). In its Activity 1.1 “Audit of the Current Situation and Proposal of Changes to the Study Programme of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage (M&CH)” a survey was conducted to investigate the current situation and prepare draft modifications to the study programme of M&CH by comparing it to world’s universities in
order to determine best practices as a basis for identifying necessary changes in the study programme of Mediamatics and Cultural Heritage and drafting of a new study programme in the field of Library and Information Studies. The author considers the identity and essence of the LIS field, describes the core of the LIS programme as recommended by International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), and deals with the programme’s objectives in the field of library and information studies (LIS) in accordance with accreditation requirements of Americal Library Association (ALA; USA) and the best LIS programmes in the US and also the content analysis of LIS programmes in the US. The author describes the draft EUCLID guidelines for targeting educational curricula in LIS programmes.
