Focusing on Research Data Services

This paper names some services that should be provided by academic libraries in order to show their value and ability to support Research 2.0. The biggest and more general one is Research Data Management (RDM).

Consulting with researchers on Data Management Plans is the part of it, which may occur with the highest frequency. Other RDM activities involve working with metadata and providing reference support. Some other services show familiarity with traditional library service activities, while raising awareness of varied issues that are not offered directly by the libraries themselves is somewhat unusual, but useful.
