Centrum vedecko-technických informácií SR (CVTI SR) ako Národný referenčný bod pre Open Access politiku Európskej komisie bolo poverené za Slovenskú republiku zaoberať sa a riešením otázok ohľadom otvoreného prístupu k výsledkom vedy a výskumu na národnej úrovni. Medzi hlavné úlohy v tejto oblasti patrí koordinácia opatrení uvedených v odporúčaní Európskej komisie „Prístup            k vedecko-technickým informáciám a ich uchovávanie“ (Recommendation on „Access to and preservation of scientific information“), spolupráca s Európskou komisiou pri výmene skúseností a tvorbe spoločných zásad, noriem a implementačných opatrení v rámci Európskeho výskumného priestoru a spolupráca s Európskou komisiou pri spravodajstve o implementácii odporúčania (Open
Access, národný referenčný bod…, 2017).

Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information (SCSTI) as the National reference point for Open Access Policy of the European Commission for Slovak Republic in the middle of 2016 established an Open Access Contact Office, which aim is to deal with the issues of Open Access to science and research results on national level. To better understand these issues and to support activity, SCSTI within the Contact Office has developed and launched the Open Access website in April this year. The aim of the website is to inform the general public about the issues related to Open Access, but in particular to provide assistance and support to scientists and publishers in their efforts to publish through Open Access. The website is also intended for librarians whose role is to inform and provide assistance and support in the area of Open Access to information and also to many others who want or need to expand their knowledge in this area.
