Education of Librarians, Skills and Innovation-INELI Initiative

The last years have seen great changes in the way services are delivered by libraries and it is likely that in the next years will continue to provide challenges for staff. The biggest factor for change has been technology. Making resources available over the Internet, whether they are created by the institution or acquired in some way (cooperation, payment/licensing etc.) has implications for what type of staff will be required, the training they will need, what services will be provided, and how these services will be delivered. Technology continues to develop at a rapid rate which necessitates continual retraining.
