„Naozaj musíte vedieť len jednu vec – kde je knižnica,“ povedal Albert Einstein v dávnych dobách pred digitálnou revolúciou. Dnes, vo veku všadeprítomného internetu, zvyknú ľudia na polohu svojej knižnice zabúdať. No ona tam stále je. A slovami Neila Gaimana: „Google vám dá stotisíc odpovedí, knihovník vám dá len jednu – tú správnu.“
Ľudské otázky ostávajú, hoci nosiče a formy informácií sa menia. A knižnice, tie ostávajú tiež a ani ich tvár neodoláva behu času. Obzrime sa pri tejto príležitosti za kľúčovými míľnikmi dejín našej knižnice, lebo práve oni ju formovali a vytvorili základ pre jej budúci rozvoj.

“The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library”, said Albert Einstein before digital revolution. Today, in the age of internet, people tend to forget where library is. But library is still there. And with the words of Nail Gaiman: „Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.”
People’s questions remain although carriers and forms of information are changing. And libraries, they are reaming too but changing little by little and bit by bit. At this occasion, let’s look back to our library historical milestones, because they created library’s past and are forming library’s future.
